Dr. Tom put his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior at the age of six. His family attended church faithfully, allowing Tom’s love for God to grow. He followed the Lord’s leading to study music at Toccoa Falls College, where Tom met Mitzi, his wife of 32 years. Dr. Tom continued to further his education with a Master of Music Education from Samford University in 1985 and a Ph.D. Music Education from Auburn University in 2000. In addition to leading us in worship, Tom is also the Dean of the School of Professional Studies (Music, Teacher Education and Business Administration Departments) at Toccoa Falls College. Throughout his years serving the Lord, Tom has taught many college level classes, led worship in numerous churches, conducted many choral groups including the Toccoa Falls College Choir and Singing Men, and blessed many with special musical programs including community theater productions and the Toccoa Symphony Orchestra’s annual Christmas Program. Tom and Mitzi have four adult children, Philip, Aaron, Jessica and Jacob.

Rev. Jim Hemminger, Visitation Pastor

He pastored three churches in the United States for a total of 12 years; and served, together with his wife, Ann, in Brazil for 33 years as missionaries with the Christian & Missionary Alliance.

He considers it a sacred privilege to serve First Alliance Toccoa as the Visitation Pastor.

Open Pastoral Positions

The Ministry Team currently has two open positions. We are currently searching for a new lead pastor (more info here). After that position is filled, we will begin a search for a new youth focused pastor. In the meantime, ministry continues at First Alliance led in partnership by the Elders and remaining Ministry Team. Should you have a ministry need, question, or concern, your first step is to contact the Church Office. Your request will be handled with confidence. Click here for prayer needs.
