At First Alliance Church, we embrace this truth. Prayer is one of our core priorities and one of the Core Competencies of a disciple of Jesus Christ. Nothing of lasting value that matters can be done unless prayer is at the center of it. Prayer is the disciple's conversation with God where we express concerns, we listen for His guidance, and end up aligned with His will. It is also the first (but not only) way we can support one another.
There are multiple ways you can connect with others in prayer. Not only is prayer a normal part of Worship Services (for all ages), Discipling Communities, and Ministry Teams, but there are some specific times you can gather with others for intentional prayer. They are:
Sunday @ 5pm
Missions Prayer Meeting
Wednesdays @ 7pm
Prayer for Healing
Wednesdays @ 7pm
Women's Prayer Meeting
Wednesdays @ 10:30am
Men's Prayer Meeting
Saturdays @ 7am
These generally happen every week, but be sure to check the Church Calendar to confirm.
We also encourage every disciple to make prayer a normal part of your daily life. You can discover specific prayer requests by talking with friends, neighbors, and co-workers. If you are associated with First Alliance, you can access the Weekly Prayer Guide in the Log-in section. Or access the weekly prayer requests for C&MA Ministries and for people groups of the world. And keep track of prayer requests with the Echo Prayer App.
Monthly Prayer Focus
Each month, we engage in a prayer focus that is determined by our Team of Elders & Pastors (the spiritual leaders of the church). Prayer is one of the Core Competencies for disciples of Jesus Christ. This Monthly Prayer Focus is designed to draw the entire church together to pray about an area that we see as needing a specific prayer. We pray about this as part of our corporate gatherings, Discipling Communities, and as individuals.
Our desire is to see God move in significant ways in an area.
For November 2017, the prayer focus is the Persecuted Church
Pray for our 200+ million brothers & sisters around the world who are persecuted for their faith in Jesus. Pray they would have endurance and perseverance to shine for Jesus in the midst of difficult trials in these most dangerous places. Pray for them to have boldness and persistence to share their testimony with their persecutors and for their persecutors’ hearts to be open to receive God’s love. Pray for the Holy Spirit to empower and comfort them in moments of hopelessness. Pray they would continue to be nourished by the Bread of Life, God’s Word. Pray that we would grow in awareness and support of persecuted Christians.

There are times when we all need someone to pray for us. We're here for you. You can submit a prayer request via the link below. In addition, after every morning Worship Service there are Elders, with their wives, available in the Prayer Room for prayer and counsel for whatever is going on in your life. Or give us a call. Or stop by.
